Context

For the preparation of a new internally promoted project at CHRU Brest and the response to a national public health call for proposals, Direct Epidemio-Statistics carried out a critical review of the project. — We intervened as a partial RC-AVP mission.

Challenge

The clinical research unit at CHRU primarily works on therapeutic interventions, and less on educational interventions, which pose challenges regarding experimental control, seasonality, and measurement.

Mission

Eight days after signature, we delivered our study including:

  • Complete analysis and synthesis of measurement instruments
  • Study of the trial methodology with improvement suggestions (justified)
  • Ethical remarks (as methodologist)
  • A series of bibliographic references

Result

Among our proposals, the team notably accepted changing the primary endpoint, which allowed (with the same number of patients):

  • 10x increase in the statistical power of the trial.

In three words

The team and the project leader summarize our contribution in three words:

A meticulous and relevant review
